"Vets For Freedom" purports to be "non-partisan," but has just issued an "Analysis of Key War-Related Senate Votes" in which every single senate Democrat gets an "F" rating, and nearly every Republican gets an "A+" rating.
They are apparently upset that two major veterans groups, VoteVets.org and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, have recently given Barack Obama and Joe Biden much higher grades than John McCain when it comes to supporting our troops.
They fail to mention that McCain backers Joe Lieberman and Lindsay Graham were on the board of "Vets For Freedom," but were forced to resign their positions because it violated federal election law.
My e-mail reads as follows:
I discovered your website today, and have a simple comment to make.
I had to look no further than your "F" ratings for Chuck Hagel and Jim Webb to find zero credibility in your organization.
Hagel and Webb are both decorated veterans and co-sponsored the Webb-Hagel-Lautenberg-Warner GI Bill. You know — the one McCain opposed. The idea that you would suggest that they do not have veterans' best interests, or the best interests of this country at heart is a disgrace.
If you want to put up a phony GOP-support website, that's fine. But you'll have to do better than rating EVERY Democrat an "F" and virtually every Republican an "A+" if you want to fool anyone.
Vets For Freedom is obviously a joke, and a shameful scam against veterans and real veterans groups. You should be ashamed to act so dishonorably, as transparent political hackery is not one of the values that true Americans fight for.
